Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili held meeting with the employees of the regional and Tbilisi divisions of the Patrol Police Department.
At the meeting Minister discussed recently implemented changes within Patrol Police and tackled development strategy of the Department.
“As you know, we’ve implemented fundamental changes in the Ministry towards various directions, however, now, the last period gives you a more in-depth analysis and assessment, giving me a solid basis to make a number of decisions for more efficient development of the agency. Today, my priority is the patrol police reform to meet the needs and expectations that the public has in towards this agency.
We invited you here to personally get introduced to our strategy and plan, because your motivation and thoughtful actions have a great importance."- noted Minister Mgebrishvili.
Director of the Patrol Police Department Aleksandre Khvadagiani introduced heads of the regional divisions of the patrol police to the patrol inspector. Adjara division will be headed by Levan Maisuradze, Kvemo Kartli- Kakhaber Bukhradze, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti- Nikoloz Gadelia, Shida Kartli region-Mikheil Kaladze.
As the Minister of Internal Affairs noted, along with staff changes, complex measures are needed for successful work of patrol police, including introduction of modern technological innovations.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili reviewed the special course of retraining of patrol police officers aimed at raising efficiency of police officers' qualification and police activities. This course will be conducted at the Academy of the MIA and include both, theoretical part, as well as tactical training and practical training. Retraining course will involve all employees of the Patrol Police Departments throughout the country who will also pass relevant qualification exams.
