Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs opened a modern, two-story building of the Emergency Situations Management Agency.
The event was attended by Mr. Merab Malania, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Zviad Katsashvili, The Director of the Emergency Management Agency, the State Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti and the representatives of Bakuariani Municipality.
The Minister of Internal Affairs along with the guests had a tour around the new building, viewed fire- rescue technique, the firefighting and rescue equipment and upgraded garage. Mr. Giorgi Mgebrishvili met firefighters and rescuers of Bakuriani and wished them success in their professional activities.
For years the firefighter-rescuers in Bakuriani had to work in poor conditions. The Emergency Management Agency of the MIA with the purpose of providing better working conditions for the employees has built a new building furnished with the latest hardware and equipment.
16 firefighters and rescuers are employed in Bakuarini firefighting and rescue unit.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs ensures rehabilitation and construction of firefighters and rescuers buildings throughout the country. From 2015 till nowadays 12 buildings are renovated and equipped with modern technique and 1 new building of the Emergency Situations Management Agency of MIA is constructed. By the end of the current year 3 new buildings will be built and 4 old buildings are planned to be renovated.
