Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Giorgi Mgebrishvili met with Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Austria Wolfgang Sobotka.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili and Wolfgang Sobotka discussed the priority issues of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the counties during the official dinner.
The meeting focused on the fruitful cooperation between the Criminal Police Offices of Georgia and Austria and the contribution of the police attachs to this direction.
Georgi Mgebrishvili thanked Austrian counterpart for the support in capacity building of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and noted that the innovative project - "ski patrol" was created with the support of the Austrian side, including the mountain tactical training of the Special Tasks Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As noted at the meeting, relevant agencies of Georgia and Austria are also closely cooperating in the issues related to sports and cultural mass events and in the direction of participation in international police missions (UN / EU / OSCE).
Giorgi Mgebrishvili and Wolfgang Sobotka discussed the development of cooperation in the field of emergency situations management.
The Austrian Interior Minister invited Giorgi Mgebrishvili to Vienna and received a formal invitation from him as well.
