Annual conference on “Women in Police” has ended, which was held within the frames of the cooperation with US State Department and Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). Up to 300 female police officers from 18 states took part in the conference.
For the first time, within the frames of the conference US embassy in Georgia has established a special order in honor of the female police officersMaia Javakhishvili killed in the line of duty in Kakheti region. first order was handed over to police officers of Kvemo Kartli Police Department Maia Felishvili for contributing to the fight against domestic violence and Cortney Geil-American police officer, wounded in the line of duty. The event was also attended by Tinatin Javakhishvili-the sister of the killed police officer. She personally awarded American female police officer.
During four-day conference female police officers have undergone trainings in law enforcement sphere. Participants of the conference have undergone exercises and shared their personal experience.at the end of the conference all participants received relevant certificates.
The conference “Women in Police” is held in March each year and is aimed to increase qualification and motivation of the law enforcers and outline the role of the female police officers in the police structural units.
