Based on the conclusion of General Inspection, police lieutenant Vano Shoshiashvili was dismissed from his position for driving under the influence of alcohol and inappropriate behavior for the police officer.
According to the report, received through the hot line of the General Inspection, police lieutenant Vano Shoshiashvili was driving motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and got involved in the traffic accident.
It was established that on March 9, 2015 approximately at 16:00 Vano Shoshiashvili was in his car and driving on the territory of Vazisubani District, Tbilisi when he failed to ensure safe driving and crashed into 2 vehicles. As a result of the car accident no one got hurt, however vehicles were damaged. Besides the mentioned, Vano Shoshiashvili acted aggressively. Patrol police crew which arrived at the place of the accident tested Vano Shoshiashvili on alcohol as a result of which it was confirmed that he was drunk. For the administrative violation envisaged under the Code of Administrative Offences, article 116, VII part, he was deprived of the driver’s license for the period of three years.
Thus, police lieutenant Vano Shoshiashvili committed disciplinary misdemeanor envisaged by “Disciplinary Regulations of the Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs”, article 2, clause 2, sub-paragraphs E (“dishonest behavior against moral and ethical norms and discrediting the servant or an institution regardless it is committed in or outside of the workplace”) and F (“Inappropriate behavior of an employee that infringes on the authority of the Ministry”) and violated requirements of order N26 of the Minister of Internal Affairs, issued on January 17, 2013.
For driving while drunk, Vano Shoshiashvili had already received stern reprimand before the above mentioned fact.
