LEPL – Emergency Response Center "112" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducts inspection of licensed, authorized, permit registration institutions’ video surveillance systems and determining their compliance with the current legislation.
On March 2, 2022, Resolution №101 of the Government of Georgia was adopted, on the basis of which, from June 1, 2023, the number of institutions subject to regulation is expanded, in particular, the following facilities have been added to already existing list: private / public educational institutions; stationary medical facilities; Cigar bars; Shopping malls; open air Markets and super Markets.
Other facilities subject to economic activities, have also been added to the existing list, whose VAT taxable turnover for 12 consecutive calendar months exceeds 500,000 (five hundred thousand) GEL (wholesale trade; retail trade; provision of accommodation; food and beverage services).
In determining these institutions, both the economic factor and the specific characteristics of the activities of the facilities were taken into account. The decree also defined the technical characteristics of the video surveillance system and the rules for installing the video surveillance system.
The implemented changes will ensure crime prevention, security of citizens and protection of property rights.
