Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri congratulated leadership of Emergency Situations Management Service as well as firefighters and rescuers with their professional day.
"Congratulations on your professional day, I would like to wish you good luck, safe return to your families and good health. Firefighter-rescuer is number one figure, respected by all citizens, loved by everyone.
It is a hard job, to tell you the truth, I always get excited with all my heart when I receive any information or photos from Mr. Temur on the existing situation, which I pass along to the Prime Minister. When you are facing tough challenges during the operation, such as fires or when divers are working to save someone’s life, we all get excited and feel relieved when it’s all over.
I want to express my gratitude to everyone. Honestly speaking, this is one of the most honorable and successful services. When you save lives, I am filled with pride”, - stated Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri at the meeting.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Ioseb Tchelidze and head of Emergency Situations Management Service – Temur Mghebrishvili.
During the meeting, Vakhtang Gomelauri received information on the activities carried out at the agency, current processes and the planned renovations. Minister expressed his appreciation towards firefighters in combating new coronavirus and awarded 10 employees of the agency.
Head of Firefighting and Rescue Department, Davit Sukhiashvili was awarded with II rank medal for “Exceptional Merits”. Medal for “Courage” was handed over to deputy heads of Firefighting and Rescue Department – Andre Kujaidze and Lasha Tvauri. The following firefighters and rescuers were also awarded for “Exceptional Merits”: Ioseb Morchanov, Iuri Lashkarashvili, Giorgi Kvachantiradze, Sergo Murjikneli, Aleksi Makhatadze, Edisher marsagishvili. Hot line worker of Emergency Situations Management Service, Gvantsa Chaduneli was also awarded with medallion for “exceptional Merits”.
On behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs, up to 2000 workers of Emergency Situations Management Service were awarded with various awards in connection with their professional day.
