Fourth meeting of Interagency Coordinating Council for Combating Organized Crime was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. During the meeting report on activities held for 2013-2014 within the frames of the National Strategy for Combating Organized Crime was discussed as well as issues related to re-launching of the strategy for the new year.
Interagency Coordinating Council was created for preserving and improving results of the fight against organized crime and polishing the existing mechanisms. Interagency Coordinating Council for Combating Organized Crime is comprised of representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Penitentiary Department, Ministry of Science and Education, Main Prosecutor’s Office. The council is chaired by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Functions of the council include: renewal of National Strategy for Combating Organized Crime and action plan for accomplishing strategy, monitoring, coordination of interagency activities and drafting of initiatives and reports
