International concluding conference “Cooperation of School, Police and Community for Crime Prevention” of the program Ge CALLS (Georgia Community Action and Linkages for Legal Socialization) was held at “Radisson Blu Iveria”.
GE CALLS program is funded by the State International Bureau of Narcotics and Law-enforcement (INL) and implemented by PH International branch office in Georgia in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
The conference was attended by the representatives of International Relations Department, Reforms and Development Agency and Academy of MIA; as well as employees of Regional Main Divisions and Tbilisi Main Division.
Participants of the conference discussed the main components of the program: school-based prevention programs, support for community-led prevention programs, strengthening of Mediation and Diversion Program; reviewed the consequences of the program and future plans; talked about the positive and negative aspects of implemented activities and expressed desire to expand the program. The main objective of the program is juvenile crime prevention by raising awareness on juvenile justice and building the confidence among students, teachers and law enforcers. Video on the restorative justice was presented at the end of the conference.
