The director of the Central Criminal Police Department of the MIA, Mr. Ivane Papiashvili and the director of the International Relations Department of the MIA, Mr. Shalva Kvinikhidze paid an official visit to Vienna, Austria. In the visit also participated representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, involved in the implementation process of the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan (VLAP) between Georgia-EU.
In Austria meetings were held at the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, where the guest were hosted by the Secretary-General, Mr. Michael Linhart.
The Representatives of the MIA familiarized Austrian colleagues with implemented reforms, achievements and future plans regarding fighting against trans-border and organized crime within the country, international police cooperation, protection of human rights, migration and other directions.
