Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia and international organizations visited Joint Operations Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Guests were hosted by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs- Shalva Khutsishvili who toured guests around the multi-functional and high-tech Joint Operations Center.
"It is very important for us to meet the diplomats of those countries which are distinguished with the largest flow of tourists in Georgia in order to inform their citizens that Georgia is a safe country and Ministry of Internal Affairs along with Police spends huge resources on development, to be two steps ahead of the challenges”-stated Shalva Khutsishvili.
The representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs spoke about the purpose, functions and future plans of the Center.
Representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations got familiarized with work specifics, process of revealing the administrative violation and traffic management. Guests received comprehensive information on the ongoing projects of the center, including one of the large-scale “Safe city, safe region, safe country” project, which implies creation of video-monitoring system all across the country and use of contemporary technologies in police activities.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs discussed police technological reform and transition on the new level of development. Shalva Khutsishvili informed guests about two novelties, in particular: beginning from November 1 of the current year, the so called smart cameras will start operation across the country, which will be administered by video-analytical programs implemented in the Joint Operations Center of MIA to identify various administrative offenses in automatic mode.
