Emergency Response Center “112” received report that due to the heavy snow and bad weather conditions, two tourists were unable to continue the route on Zekari pass located in alpine zone and needed assistance.
As soon as the report was received rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Agency departed to the place where tourists got stuck in the snow, disabling theme to continue movement.
MIA Rescue team, as a result of intensive search activities, was able to locate the whereabouts of Georgian and German citizens. In order to render assistance to tourists, Department of roads conducted road clean-up activities with special technic.
As a result of the successful rescue operation, rescuers and policemen were able to bring German and Georgian citizen from the mountain.
