Representatives of MIA different departments payed a visit to Warsaw, Poland. Within the frames of official visit, MIA’s delegation hold a meeting at Europe’s Border and Coast Agency (FRONTEX) headquarters and met with the representatives of the Agency.
Parties discussed issues of further cooperation between FRONTEX and MIA; also visa free regime between Georgia and EU and information exchange mechanism was also topic of the meeting.
Meeting members talked about new working agreement project details of operative collaboration between Europe’s Border and Coast Agency and MIA.
During the meeting parties hold a negotiation on the draft of Working Arrangement on operational cooperation between the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA). Draft of the arrangement envisages development of capacity of MIA employees, participation in joint operations, cooperation on risk analysis and other important issues.
During the visit, meetings were held with representatives of FRONTEX joint operations, return operations, risk analysis and training units.
The aim of the visit was deepening existing and future cooperation issues between MIA and FRONTEX.
