On April 2 TCR International 2017 tournament in car racing will be held on the Rustavi International Motorpark.
With the aim to sign the agreement, director of TCR Touring Car Racing, Marcelo Lotti visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The signing agreement was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Tariel Khechikashvili, president of Rustavi International Motorpark Shota Apkhazava, chairman of Sports and Youth Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament Mikheil Khavelashvili, member of MIA Force sport club and winner of world championship Data Kajaia, representatives of the TCR International and other invited guests.
Minister of Internal Affairs has introduced new president of MIA FORCE sport club, majority leader of the Parliament, Archil Talakvadze.
Archil Talakvadze and Marcello Lotti have signed the agreement between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and TCR International. According to the agreement the opening of the season of TCR International 2017 will be held in Georgia as well as some of the phases of the tournament scheduled in 2018 and 2019.
On the signing ceremony Minister of Internal Affairs reviewed importance of hosting opening ceremony of TCR International.
"Georgia has always been honored by various quality awards and Olympic medals. However, not quite often we had the opportunity to host high-rank sports tournament. And now, thanks to the great efforts undertaken by the Service Agency and MIA FORCE sport club, citizens will be able to see car race celebrities on the TCR International season opening. This will be another great opportunity to present our country. Georgia will host tourists interested in car racing and will become attractive country in this regard as well. Herewith, visit of such high-level sportsmen to Georgia will serve as another confirmation for the Georgian youth to make their choice in favor of healthy lifestyle for the sake of their successful future”-stated Minister Mgebrishvili.
TCR International championship is being held all around the world. The tournament has several million followers and is being transmitted by the leading sports channels.
