The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistic data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
In 2017 387 070 visitors arrived to Georgia which is more by 19,8% than the index of the same period in 2016.
According to the new method of a conditional division the number of visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia in January 2017 is the following:
a) Tourist – 154 083 visits (39,8%, of general number; increase by 32,4% in comparison with the index of the same period in 2016);
b) Transit –65 333 visits (16,9% of general number, in comparison with the index of the last year 34,8%);
c) Other – 167 654 visits (43,3% of general number, increase by 5,9% in comparison with the index of the last year).
The most of the visits in January 2017, were paid again from Armenia (+31,4%), Azerbaijan (+7,1%), Turkey (-0,8), Russia (+40,3%), Ukraine (+28,2%) and Iran (+616,7%); positive tendencies are also retained by the EU countries: respecting the number of arrivals to Georgia in January the following countries took leading position: Lithuania,, Germany Bulgaria Poland Great Britain and France (47%, 32%, 32%, 25%, 23% and 18%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (32%), Uzbekistan (231%) Turkmenistan (184%). From the countries of Eastern European countries– Belarus is leading with 25%, Middle East – Israel – 83%, and Asian countries – Oman 13%. The number of tourists form the United States of America has also increased by 10 %.
