The US State of Georgia Delegation comprising of Mr.Vernon Keenan, Director of Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Chiefs of Police of State of Georgia and the representatives of Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of US Embassy in Georgia visited Tbilisi Special Tasks Division of Special Tasks Department of MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center. The members of the delegation held a working meeting with the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. TeimurazMghebrishvili, Director of Special Tasks Department Mr. MerabMalania and other authorities ofthe same Department and MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center.
The official delegation got familiarized with infrastructure, equipment and transport means of the Special Tasks Department. The employees of the Department introduced the principles of activities. The parties summarized the aspects of the mutual cooperation, discussed ongoing projects and emphasized theirimportance in enhancing the effectiveness of fight against crime and set plans for future cooperation. The staff of the Special Tasks Department demonstrated various types of simulated training for the US representatives.
The Special Tasks Department of MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center has beencooperating with INL Program for several years. The most of the trainings are conducted withthe support of instructors of State of Georgia Law Enforcement Agencies. Within the scope of the INL program the employees of the Special Tasks Department periodically undergo various types of trainings.
