The Border policemen from the Operative-Investigation Bureau and Land Border Defence Department carried out operation and detained eight citizens of Bangladesh on the territory of N1 Border Sector (Sarpi) of the MIA Border Police N1 Office (Batumi) while attempting to illegally cross the state border in group.
Investigation established that the detainees attempted to cross the State Border of Georgia illegally in groups without official border control to the direction of the Republic of Turkey.
Investigation is in progress on the above-mentioned fact according to the Criminal Code of Georgia, Article 19-344, Part II, Subparagraph A.
