The officers of the Border Police of MIA as a result of activities held on the sector #6 (Kartsakhi) of the second division (Akhaltsikhe) detained the citizens of Turkey Aikut O. (DoB 1983) and Nazime Sh. (DoB: 1956) and two citizens of Georgia Malkhaz Sh. (DoB: 1975) and Natia B. (DoB: 1980) for attempting to cross Georgian State Border illegally in group.
The investigation established that detainees, namely, Natia B and nazime Sh. with a newborn concealed in a luggage rack of a vehicle belonging to Malkhaz Sh. and thus bypassing the border check point attempted to cross the State Border of Georgia in the direction of the Republic of Turkey.
The newborn – Jemtura Sh. was placed in Samtskhe-Javakheti Social Service Regional Center of the LEPL – Social Service Agency.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of the attempted crossing of the Georgian State Border by the group (sub clause “a” of the part 2 of the article 19-344 of the Criminal Code). Investigation is conducted by the Investigation-operative Main Division of the Border Police.
