International Organization for Migration (IOM) within the frames of the EU-funded project, handed over contemporary equipment for inspection of the travel documents to the Patrol Police Department.
Foster & Freeman equipment will be installed at laboratories located at 10 border crossing points of the country, enabling second line inspection and in-depth study of the document.
Patrol Police officers have also undergone two-day training on proper use of the equipment which was led by the British expert from „Foster & Freeman“company. Employees of the Patrol Police got acquainted with the instructions of the proper installation of the equipment and studied procedures related to inspection of the travel documents by means of the new equipment.
International Organization for Migration is implementing ““Enhancing Capabilities of Georgian Government in the field of Border and Migration Management” project from 2013. The project is funded by European Union mission to Georgia.
