On 20-25 September under the joint organization of Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center (EADRCC) and Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine “International field and Staff Training in Disaster Management” –Ukraine 2015 was held in Lvov.
In the mentioned training representatives of more than 22 countries and more than 1100 representatives from international organizations took part. From the side of Georgia, 15 employees of Emergency Situations Management Agency were presented at the training. The team from Georgia consisted of the two sub-groups: chemical-radiological and nuclear catastrophes decontamination group and rescue team working on heights.
Head of Emergency Situations Management Agency Zviad Katsashvili was attending the training as the honorary guest.
The training was aimed at identifying NATO member states capacities and to establaish coordination while working on disaster aftermath. The training was also focused on fulfilling “International Search and Rescue Advisory Group” “INSARAG’’ tasks and sharing experience in the field of the joint international rescue operations.
Head of the Georgian and Ukrainian Emergency services positively assessed rescue operations fulfilled by the Georgian team and thanked the head of the Georgian Emergency service for fruitful and successful cooperation.
