Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will start issuing renewed number plates for internal transit and motorcycles from January 1, 2016 in order to comply with standards defined in the European countries and safety level.
Renewed number plate has a blue line as well as imprinted national flag of Georgia and international code of the state -GE. The registration number with letters will be imprinted on the number plate with red ink.
For increasing level of security new registration number has anti-counterfeiting hologram of the state emblem.
Renewed number plate for transit will start from Latin letters –GE, while number plates for motor cycles will have only G on it.
Service Agency of the Ministry of Interior has not changed the terms and fees for services rendered. Internal transit fees to all vehicles remains 1 GEL per day.
It is worth mentioning that the Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs offered renewed design of the state license plates in the past year in order to comply with standards defined in the European countries and safety level, changes with regard to the for internal transit and motorcycles will be enacted from January 1, 2016.
