Emergency Response Center “112” received notification that in Mestia, namely on Tetnuldi mountain, two Polish citizens needed assistance. One of the foreign citizens was unable to continue the route due to health complications.
Rescuers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti mountain sub-division of Emergency Situations Management Agency departed to the place by Border Police helicopter. Late at night, on 3 950 meters above the sea level, due to severe weather conditions, rescuers were unable to bring the tourists to a safer place. MIA rescuers spent the night with the tourists and rendered assistance to the tourist in poor health condition. By the dawn, as a result of the successful rescue operation Polish tourists were brought to a safer place. At this moment, their health and lives are not endangered.
