In Zugdidi Center for Civic Engagement the meeting between representatives of civil society and the Ministry of Internal Affairs was held. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Archil Talakvadze along with the representatives of MIA Administration and General Inspection provided civilians with comprehensive information on crime prevention, fight against crime, law supremacy, protection of human rights, activities held by the Ministry as well as implemented and scheduled activities within the frames of “Safe City” project and provided answers to all questions.
The meeting was attended by representatives of local non-governmental organizations, media and municipal officials. After the meeting Deputy Minister stated that civic society and media in Zugdidi is very active which makes interaction more comfortable.
Within the frames of the project “Safe City” meetings will continue and will be held in 10 cities across the country which will facilitate their participation in the governance process and boost the level of awareness on activities held by the Ministry as well as crime prevention and due response on topical issues of the subject.
