The officers of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti police and Terjola police division department as a result of operative-investigative activities detained 3 persons for armed robbery committed in group and illegal purchase and keeping of firearms: previously convicted for murder K.M. (DoB 1982) previously convicted for armed robbery, theft and hooliganism G.Z. (DoB 1976) and previously brought to criminal justice for drug crime D.K. (DoB 1981).
Investigation established that on March 30, the mentioned persons assaulted the family of G.B. resididng in Tchognari village. Criminals were armed with automatic weapon, pistol and cold steel, while their faces were covered with masks. Under the pressure and violence they appropriated photo camera, play station, jewelry, CD player, 500 GEL, bank cards and fled from the place of crime.
Law enforcers managed to detain the criminals several days after the incident. During the search activities held in D.K’s house policemen seized the so called player, while as a result of the personal search illegally appropriated photo camera was seized as well as play station and golden ring as evidence. During the search activities held in G.Z’s house policemen seized unregistered shot gun and appropriated credit cards, while from the house of K.M. policemen seized unregistered pistol with one magazine and three cartridges.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed robbery and illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms- articles 179 and 236 of the criminal code.
