Strategic Pipeline Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs summarized its activities carried out during 10 years since its establishment.
The event was attended by the Deputy Ministers, Heads of the Strategic Pipeline Protection Department and the various Departments of the MIA, the representatives of the State Guard Special Service, the Intelligence Service, the State Security Service and the company BP.
Mr. Merab Malania, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs assessed 10 years of activity of the Pipeline Protection Department as successful. In his speech the Deputy Minister also talked about the expansion project of the South Caucasus gas pipeline, which means transportation of natural gas from Azerbaijan to Europe via Georgia. "Participation in a new project is another success for our country; each employee of the Department has made his great contribution to this. They have to discharge their duties in very difficult weather and geographical conditions. That is the result of their hard work that made our country the world's most reliable strategic partner for transit” - said the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs.
Representatives of the Strategic Pipeline Protection Department made presentation on 10 years activity of the Department as well as planned projects; the video tape reflecting the activities of the Department was also presented for the audience.
Mr. Merab Malania awarded several employees of the Pipeline Protection Department with medals and wished them success.
