The Information Analytical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presents the statistical data on the visitors having crossed the state border of Georgia during the last month, in particular:
The number of visitors in July, 2016 amounted to 764 022 more by 3,5 % than the index of the same period in 2015.
As for January-July period, the country was visited by 3 400 335 visitors, which is more by 10,6% than the index of the same period in 2015.
According to the new method of a conditional division, the correlation of specific weight in January-July, 2016 is the following:
a) Tourist – 1 401 914 visits (41,2% of general number; increase by 17,5% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
b) Transit – 672 317 visits (19,8% of general number, decrease by 6,6% in comparison with the same index of the last year);
c) Other – 1 326 104 visits (39% of general number, increase by 14,3% in comparison with the same index of the last year).
The most of the visits in July, 2016 were paid again from Azerbaijan (+4,4%), Turkey (+7,9%), Armenia (+7,4%), Russia (+2,7%) and Ukraine (+18,4%); also, positive position is retained by the EU countries: respecting the increase of the number of arrivals to Georgia in July the following countries take the leading position: Latvia, Italy, Lithuania and France (relevantly - 25%, 16%, 7% and 7%), Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan (35%), among the countries of Easter Europe – Belarus (30%)), Middle East – Israel – (69%), and Asian countries - UAE (33%%). Also, the number of tourists form the United States of America has also increased by 8 %.
It should be emphasized that the low level increase in the percentage of the visitors is stipulated due to temporary obstacles occurred in “Kazbegi”.
