The officers of Signagi Regional Division of Kakheti Police Department of the MIA as a result of investigative activities conducted on the basis of operative information detained previously multiply convicted brothers Nikoloz Ch. (DoB: 1972) and Kakhaber Ch. (DoB: 1972) for illegal purchase and keeping of firearms.
From the land plot of the detainees in the village Old Anaga, Signagi region, the w enforcers seized “AKM” model automatic machine, “AK 74” model 2 automatic machines, 5 cartridges and 14 bullets, while from the detainees` house in the village Sakobo the law enforcers seized “IZH 56” model double-barreled shotgun and 16 bullets. According to an expertise report the firearms are valid for shooting. Both detainees have pleaded guilty.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition (Article 236, parts I and II of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
