The officers of Border Police of the MIA as a result of an operation carried out on the territory of N1 Border Sector (Sarpi) of the First Division (Batumi) detained 3 citizens of the Republic of Sri-Lanka and 1 citizen of the Republic of Turkey for attempted illegal crossing of the State Border of Georgia in group.
The investigation established that 3 citizens of the Republic of Sri Lanka bypassing the border control checkpoint attempted to cross the state border of Georgia with the assistance of the citizen of the Republic of Turkey.
The investigation is in process on the fact of attempted illegal crossing of the State Border of Georgia in group (Articles 19-344, part II, sub-paragraph “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia). The investigation is carried out by the Investigational and Operative Main Division of the Border Police of MIA.
