The officers of Anti-corruption Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative, searching and investigative activities detained members of the criminal group for misusing powers, production and using forged document on granting authority, in particular: employee of one of the agencies of the Ministry of Agriculture- Davit Kavtaradze, director of LTD “Tomato” Aleksandre Ilashvili, business partner of the same LTD Aleksandre Robakidze and criminal ally of the mentioned persons-Adalet Bairamov.
Investigation established that by misusing powers, Davit Kavtaradze gave advantages to “Tomato” LTD representatives Aleksandre Ilashvili and Aleksandre Robakidze. He issued certificates without any phyto-sanitary inspection on goods produced by the mentioned company which were aimed for export. In exchange for the above mentioned Davit Kavtaradze received certain amount of cash from “Tomato” representatives.
Representatives of “Tomato”, under the previous consent with Adalat Bairamov, forged relevant documentation with the purpose of changing the manufacturing country data and presented the forged documents to the customs service.
Investigation against Davit Kavtaradze is in progress on the fact of misusing powers, article 332, I part, and envisaging three years of imprisonment. Investigation against Aleksandre Ilashvili, Aleksandre Robakidze and Adalat Bairamov is in progress on the fact of production and usage of forged documentation, article 210, II part; sub-paragraph A, which envisages from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
