The officers of Kobuleti police division of Achara police department, based on the operative information detained several times convicted in past, G.T. (DoB 1975). Detainee was driving a vehicle in which police seized firearm. Law enforcers requested G.T. to stop the vehicle for checking, however he ignore legal demand of the policemen and opened fire to their direction and crashed into police vehicle.
During the exchange fire G.T was slightly wounded. He was transferred to the hospital by the law enforcers where he was rendered medical aid. At this moment his life is no longer in danger.
Policemen seized Baikal pistol with four bullets from the place of crime as evidence.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of violating public order, resistance committed with violence, illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms and ammunition- article 353 I part, 236 II and III parts envisaged by the criminal Code.
