The officers of Samtskhe-Javakheti Regional Main Division and Vake-Saburtalo police as a result of jointly held special operative activities detained Suren J. (DoB 1981) for resisting police, while his family member Robert J. (DoB 1952) was detained for illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition.
At one of the night clubs located in Ninotsminda Suren J. physically assaulted certain citizen. During detention he offered resistance to the police officers and fled from the place of crime. During the searching activities held in Suren J’s house law enforcers seized: 7908 bullets, 3 pistols, 1 revolver, 1 hunting rifle and etc.
Robert J. was detained in Ninotsminda while Suren J. was detained in Tbilisi several days after the crime. Robert J. already pleaded guilty. Investigation is in progress on the fact of rasistance to the police, araticle 353 I part and on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of firearms and ammunition, article 236, I part of the Criminal Code.
