The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department along with Shida Kartli Police Department and Prosecutor’s Office, as a result of jointly held operative-investigative activities detained previously convicted 4 individuals: B.B. (DoB 1991) Z.M. (DoB 1993) T.Sh. (DoB 1985) and T.R. (DoB 1989) in Mtskheta for taking a hostage.
Investigation established that on November 22, detainees illegally restricted freedom to V.M. (DoB 1984) in vicinities of “Akhmeteli Theatre” metro station. They placed the hostage in the trunck of the vehicle with his hands and legs tied up and demanded 7000 GEL as ransom from the victim’s family.
All of the mentioned persons were taken under arrest as a result of immediate activities nearby Mtskheta. Police managed to release V.M. from illegal custody unharmed.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of taking a hostage, article 144, II part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
