The officers of Central Criminal Police Department as a result of investigative activities held on the basis of operative information detained Shengeli P. (DoB 1975) in Marneuli for illegal purchase, keeping and illegal import of drugs in especially large quantities to Georgia.
During the personal search of the detainee law enforcers seized 12 packages of drugs weighting 36,5789 gr, which according to the results of expertise contains 8,88191gr of heroin. Investigation established that Shengeli P. purchased drugs in Azerbaijan and smuggled on the territory of Georgia.
Detainee has already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and illegal import of drugs in especially large quantities to Georgia, article 260, III part, sub-paragraph A and article 262, IV part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
