The officers of the second unit of Didube-Chughureti police division as a result of investigative activities held on the basis of the received operative information detained four members of the criminal group: many times convicted in past -Archil A. (DoB 1971), two times convicted in past- Beka A. (DoB 1982), Lasha Zh. (DoB 1991) and Koba M. (DoB 1975). The mentioned persons were detained for extortion.
Investigation established that in February of the current year detainees met civilian Anatoli M. several times and introduced themselves under the fictional names. After the mentioned, detainees demanded 1000 USD from Anatoli M. under the threats of violence, alleging that he owned the mentioned sum to their friend.
They physically assaulted Anatoli M. and in case of refusing to pay, threatened the victim with liquidation. Officers of Didube-Chughureti police division managed to detain the group members as a result of complex activities. Investigation is in progress on the fact of extortion committed in group, article 181, II part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
