On 13-14 November under the organization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs the fifth meeting of Interagency Coordinating Council for Combating Organized Crime was held on Lopota. At the meeting welcoming speech was delivered by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Shalva Khutsishvii, who briefly reviewed events that defined elaboration of the strategy for fighting organized crime in 2013-2014, 2015-2018.
At the meeting projects of the organized crime strategy and action plan, existing situation in the context of the fight against the organized crime and problems were discussed. Members of the council also tackled the draft strategy to reflect the need for further directions and issues related to the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on “Enhancing the Effectiveness of Inter-agency Cooperation in the Law Enforcement Sphere” signed in 2013.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Corrections, Ministry of Education and Science, Administration of the Georgian Government and Finance Ministry.
