The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department along with State Security Agency’s counter intelligence center as a result of the jointly held operative-investigative activities detained 5 members of the criminal group: Z.K. (DoB 1960) Q.O (DoB 1957) G.V. (DoB 1967) N.G. (DoB 1970) and O.M. (DoB 1968) for taking a hostage and illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
Investigation established that detained kidnapped R.A (DoB 1974) with the aim of money extortion. They forcibly put the hostage in his own car stationed nearby Lilo open market and took his to the direction of the “Tbilisi Sea”. As a result of the operative-investigative activities the mentioned persons were detained several minutes later by the law enforcers.
During the personal search and search activities held in the vehicle law enforcers seized unregistered “Nagan” type pistol, bullets, one-time hand cuffs, masks, cold steel, rope, tape and 5600 GEL appropriated from the hostage.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of taking a hostage and illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms and ammunition, article 144, II part, A and F sub-paragraphs and article 236, II and III parts of the Criminal Code.
