The officers of Kvemo Kartli Main Division of the Patrol Police Department along with the Revenue Service as a result of operative-investigative activities detained Armenian citizen Frunzik A. (DoB 1947) during customs procedures for violating rules of bringing firearms on the territory of Georgia the mentioned person was detained on the operational area of the Border police VI division.
Investigation established that detainee attempted to bring “Valter” firearm and 10 bullets through Sadakhlo border checkpoint. Law enforcers seized the firearm and bullets from the vehicle of the detainee. He has already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of bringing firearms on the territory of Georgia, article 214, IV part of the Criminal Code that envisages from 5 to 8 years of imprisonment.
