The officers of Ajara Regional Police Main Division as a result of immediate investigative activities detained Ramaz D. (DoB 1983) Ramaz D. at Sarpi customs for murdering junior inspector of Batumi police. Investigation established that on late at night on December 27 detainee wounded junior inspector of Batumi police VII unit – Tarash M. (DoB 1992) in head area with a firearm, who was not on duty. Incident took place in one of the clubs of Batumi. Due to the received injuries Tarash M. died at the place of crime, while Ramaz D. fled frorm the place of crime. As a result of immediate searching and investigative activities Ramaz D. was detained on the state border in the attempt to leave the country. Law enforcers seized bullets and firearm as evidence. Investigation is in progress on the fact of premeditated murder, article 108 of the Criminal Code.
