Officers of the Main Investigation Division and the Detectives (Operational) Main Division of Tbilisi Police Department as well as Didube-Chughureti, Gldani-Nadzaladevi and Vake-Saburtalo Police Main Divisions, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out at different times, arrested 8 people on drug charges.
On charges of illegal purchase, storage, purchase, attempted purchase and preparation of purchase of various types of narcotic drugs and the narcotic drug "marijuana" in large and especially large quantities, the detainees are: L.Ch., born in 2002, I.D., born in 1975, previously convicted persons, Sh.J., born in 1989, G.K., born in 2006, E.A., born in 1983, and foreign citizens: M.A., born in 1997, E.D., born in 2001, and M.F., born in 1999.
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years of imprisonment.
The police, based on a judge's ruling, carried out an undercover purchase of drugs and secretly recorded the aforementioned purchases.
As a result of the personal search and search activities of residential homes and in the course of the investigation, law enforcement officers seized the narcotics "heroin", "alpha-PVP", "dried marijuana" and "methadone" from the locations indicated by them as evidence.
As a result of the investigative actions, the police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotics, an electric scale, polyethylene ziplock bags and cash.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 260 (3), 261, 18-260 (3), 19-260 (3) and 273 (1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
