Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Vakhtang Gomelauri opened Giorgi Beruashvili Street, Square and Memorial in memory of the officer killed in the line of duty. The Minister handed the keys of the new apartment in Tbilisi to the family members of the policeman. Giorgi Makharashvili, inspector-investigator of the Borjomi Regional Division who was wounded in the line of duty attended the opening ceremony. The Minister Gomelauri visited the killed policeman’s tomb along with his family members and Giorgi Makharashvili. The street where the policeman lived was named in memory of Giorgi Beruashvili. On crime scene where the officer was lethally wounded by Shalva Abuladze in January 23, 2015 a square had been arranged and named in memory of Giorgi Beruashvili.
Giorgi Beruashvili served as inspector-investigator in Borjomi Regional Unit of Samtskhe-Javakheti Regional Main Division. Giorgi Beruashvili’s memorial was installed in the square. The Ministry of Internal Affairs employed Beruashvli’s spouse Natalia Khutsishvili in the Borjomi Regional Division. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia will continue to take care of the fallen policeman’s family in the future.
