The officers of Adigeni, Akhaltsikhe and Borjomi Regional Units of Samtskhe-Javakheti Regional Main division of MIA as a result of investigative activities based on operative information detained Malkhaz Kh (DoB 1976), Ramaz G (DoB 1967), Davit G (DoB 1961), Alexsander G. (DoB 1977), Vasil B (DoB 1981), Giorgi B (DoB 1984), for misuse of designated area of the State Forest Fund, statutory violations of timber transportation and, violation of timber processing facility directive requirements. In addition Aleksi T. (DoB 1984) and Davit Ts. (DoB 1966) for illegal cutting of trees and plants.
The officers seized illegally cut, ready for realization, 3 metres long 21 pieces of coniferous wood material in village Mlashe, Adigeni region and village Tadzrisi Borjomi Region. The law enforcers seized 5 cubic meters of illegally cut beech wood from the Teimuraz D owned truck. The law enforcers also seized 4 meters long 8 coniferous logs in village Patara Mitarbi, Borjomi Region as well as 145 pieces of sawn cut fir-tree and pine-tree wood and 5 metres long 10 logs ready to saw in village Chobiskhevi, Borjomi Region. Whilst in village Taatanisi, Akhaltsikhe region the officers seized illegally cut, 35 pieces fir-tree and pine-tree wood ready for realization. Illegal sawmills are sealed.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of misuse of designated area of the State Forest Fund, statutory violations of timber transportation and, violation of timber processing facility directive requirements and illegal cutting of trees and plants, Article 128 (1) part III and IV and Article 303 part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
