Georgian delegation, with the leadership of Mr. Shalva Khutsishvili, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs visited the National University of Public Service of Hungary within the frames of the official visit of Mr. Giorgi Mghebrishvili, the Minister to Budapest. The University conducts trainings of the Hungarian public servants tailored with international challenges and local needs.
During the meeting Mr. Shalva Khutsishvili, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia and Dr. Norbert Kis, the Vice Rector of the University talked about the current and planned reforms in the Academy of the MIA of Georgia, including the issues of implementation of new educational methods, infrastructural projects and student-teacher exchange programs. Mr. Shalva Khutsishvili provided Dr. Norbert Kis with the information on establishment of regional training center on the basis of the Academy of the MIA. According to the Deputy Minister, creation of such center and implementation of international training programs will support the raising of the level of education of police in Georgia and in the whole region.
The parties talked about the high standards of the programs of the National University of Public Service of Hungary and discussed plans of future cooperation with the Academy of the MIA of Georgia.
During the visit the parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding on “Cooperation between the Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the National University of Public Service of Hungary in the Field of Law Enforcement Education”. The Memorandum enables to implement students’ visits and exchange programs, as well as to share the experience of teaching methodology and cooperate in the field of scientific research.
