Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri attended funeral of police officer who died in the line of duty and expressed condolences to the family members of the deceased officer.
Giorgi Beruashvili was employed on the position of district inspector-investigator at Borjomi regional division of Samtskhe-Javakheti Regional Main Division.
Funeral costs of the deceased police officer were fully covered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Giorgi Beruashvili’s family will receive financial compensation as provided by the law, whereas patronage on his family members will be provided by the Ministry.
Giorgi Beruashsvili died on February 6 at N. Kipshidze Central Clinic. Owning to the poor condition of health transportation of Giorgi Beruashvili to the medical facility abroad was not manageable, although medical personnel did their best to save policeman’s life.
On 23 January, Giorgi Beruashvili was fulfilling police duties in Likani when he was subject to multiple shots made by resident of Borjomi- several times convicted Shalva Abuladze (DoB 1977). At the moment law enforcers are holding intensive operative-searching activities in order to detain Shalva Abuladze.
Giorgi Beruashvili was buried with honors on February 10, 2015.
