Under the leadership of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, a working meeting was held in the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the persons interested in draft law regarding the amendments to the Law of Georgia "On Weapons".
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and representatives of various departments of the Ministry also participated in the meeting.
Purpose of the planned legislative changes is to reduce and prevent cases of non-intended use of weapons.
The representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs introduced the legislative changes in details to the participants of the meeting. During the meeting, the remarks and opinions within the mentioned draft law were discussed as well. It was also agreed that the submitted draft law will be revised taking into account the remarks and will be submitted to the Parliament of Georgia for consideration in the second reading in the near future.
At the meeting, it was decided that in the future, discussions will be actively continued on other important issues related to the challenges with regards to the law on weapons.
