With the support of EU three-day seminar on electronic communication of Interpol data base is being held at MIA Academy. In the mentioned seminar representatives of Patrol Police Department and General Prosecutor’s office are involved. The seminar is hosted by Bojidar Popovic from General Secretariat of Interpol and head of Slovenian Bureau of Interpol, expert Borut Selan.
Seminar is aimed at integrating Interpol data base with national data base. General Secretariat of Interpol possesses Stolen and Lost Travel Documents (SLTD) data base which contains more than 45 million notes. The mentioned base is being updated by Interpol member states on the regular basis and serves as effective mechanism against the fight with crime, especially taking into consideration the fact that lost travel documents are often applied by crime syndicates and terrorist groups.
On September 1, 2014, Under the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs changes were made to the decree on “Regulation and Security of State Border” according to which authorized MIA employee received access to SLTD documents.
