Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri along with Director of Emergency Situations Management Department Zviad Katsashvili is visiting Ajara region. Under the guidance of the Deputy Minister the operative staff was established, including various MIA sub-units and other agencies involved in activities held against the results of the natural disaster.
Todat the staff meeting was held during which the liquidation works of the natural disaster were discussed. Operative stuff is accountable to State Security and Crises Management Council. In connection with the fact that weather will deteriorate on 24-25 September, all relevant agencies received instructions to conduct adequate preventive activities.
At the meeting it was also decided that in case of the repeated flooding of Batumi, special monitoring will be conducted in seven districts in order to make quick reaction in case of emergency.
