One of the main priorities for the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the fight against illegal circulation of firearms, which in its turn, is the precondition for prevention of more serious crimes.
As a result of the complex operative-investigative activities, Central Criminal Police Department has seized especially large amount of firearms in the past two months.
47 individuals have been taken under arrest and brought to criminal justice on the charges of illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms.
As a result of the searching activities held in apartments, vehicles and uring the personal search 50 firearms have been seized, namely 31 pistols, 10 automatic weapons, 3 revolvers, 3 rifles and 3 cut guns, 2 hand grenades and 1016 bullets aimed for the various types of arms.
Complex activities are aimed for the crime exposition and prevention of more serious crimes as well as seized of arms from illegal circulation.
During the activities law enforcers foiled a number of grave crimes, such as murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, serious health injury and etc.
Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to remind society that according to the law those who will hand over arms voluntarily will be free from the legal responsibility.
