Considering high public interest Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to specify that on September 5, 2015 the car accident took place on Khimshiashvili Street, Batumi. As a result, two vehicles got damaged, one of which was owned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Patrol Police crew conducted relevant legal procedures at the site. The driver of the vehicle owned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs- I. Inanidze was fined in accordance with the article 125, X part envisaged by the Code of Administrative Offences (according to witnesses he was the one behind the wheel).
General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received operative information that during the car accident disciplinary violation had been perpetrated by Z. Kedelidze – senior investigator of the East Regional Unit for the Fight against Trafficking under the Central Criminal Police Department of MIA. As a result of the service inspection Z. Kedelidze was dismissed from the occupied position on October 2, 2015 as provided by “Disciplinary Regulations of the Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs” (inappropriate behavior of an employee that infringes on the authority of the Ministry -article 2, II clause, sub-paragraph “F”). Disciplinary sanctions in the form of the reprimand were imposed to the following police officers: detective-investigator of the East Regional Unit under the Central Criminal Police Department of MIA I. Ananidze and Patrol-Inspector B. Gogiberidze. Ministry of Internal Affairs once again would like to outline that in connection with the car accident that took place in Batumi, the response from the side of the General Inspection was immediate and adequate. Ministry would like to call on certain political party representatives and interested individuals, to verify the facts at the appropriate agencies before disseminating through media sources in order to avoid misleading of the public by means of disinformation.
