The officers of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Regional Main Division conducted persecution of Mirza B. exposed on the fact of theft in Kutaisi. The mentioned person ignored legal demand of the law enforcers, offered resistance and attempted to crash into policemen with his vehicle. After the above mentioned, police officer made a shot to the direction of Mirza B. which caused the car accident. Mirza B. died after he was transferred to the hospital.
Regarding the mentioned fact investigation is conducted by the prosecutor’s office. Investigation is launched under the article 333, III part, sub-paragraph B (exceeding official powers) of the Criminal Code.
At this moment police officer is being interviewed at the prosecutor’s office. He will be suspended from his official duties till the end of investigation.
