On February 22, in connection with the reopening of the tomb of father Gabriel and taking into consideration the amount of civilians willing to visit Mtskheta, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has made the following decisions, in order to ensure public safety and order:
1. From February 22, 09:00 am to February 24, 12:00;
A) From 13th km of Aghmashenebeli Avenue the traffic movement will be restricted at central highway to western direction;
B) Entrance leading to Mtskheta will also be blocked as well as all exit routes;
C) All transportation means moving to western direction will use Avtchala-Zahesi-Mtskheta bypass road;
D) All transportation means moving from west to the direction of Tbilisi will continue movement on central highway without any obstacles;
2. On week-end, beginning from 06:00 buses free of charge will be available for those willing to travel to Mtskheta. Buses will wait for passengers at Station Square in front of Tbilisi Central Trading Center, Didube subway station and Good Will hyper-market;
3. Persons from western Georgia willing to visit Mtskheta will park their vehicles in front of Good Will hyper-market and travel to Mtskheta by bus parked on the nearby territory;
4. Georgia railway will also continue operation from Tbilisi to Mtskheta direction;
In order to avoid incidents and to manage the flow of people, Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on citizens willing to attend the grave-opening ceremony to obey law enforcers’ legal requests, contribute to the protection of public order and act in coordination with police.
